It rolls!

Finally got the rear end mounted - actually weekend before last. Things been crazy.

As usual, everything that should have been quick was anything but. The rear has a new set of Richmond 3.73:1 gears and a W27 repop cover. The swaybar isn't on yet in this picture, but it's the Hellwig axle mounted design. Control arms are UMI uppers with Currie johnny joints in the ears, and UMI lowers with their rotojoints in the back and port in the front. All the steering linkage is on and the sway bars are loosely mounted.

Funny note - the Raybestos rubber spring isolators are too small to fit on the A body spring perch. We learned this when it seemed like the other car was falling off its jack stands with us under it. I got some Energy Suspension poly isolators and they're spot on.

Last weekend was mostly devoted to painting the garage door, but I got the shocks and engine mounts bolted on. I'm getting lots of practice cleaning and oxiding bolts. I sure hope they stay pretty for a while! I also oxided the rear end yoke. It seems to form some rust, but it wipes right off. Interesting stuff. Will probably need to remember to coat everything in the penetrating sealer every now and then.

The chassis is essentially done. I need to finish bolting down the brake lines, mount the fuel and vapor lines..... and that should be it.

On the body, I need to get the firewall replacement done, see if I can do anything with the quarters, and finish cleaning and the POR the body underside. I'm sure that'll be really fast. :)

At that point the body goes back on, gotta figure out the core support, then start assembly and wiring.
