Almost looks like a car

Big weekend here.

I touched up three areas on the firewall and cleaned out the interior on Friday. Nothing astonishing there, except my Harbor Freight Special spray run started having a sticky air valve..... Seems to be fine today? High quality at it's finest. I masked off two of the three areas to just act as guidelines. Instead, I ended up with sharp lines at the tape. Hopefully a light sanding will clean it up. There were also a couple of places to touch up on the chassis and had to soak the rear yoke in oil again. It'll be interesting to see if all that black oxide work was worth anything once the car is actually driving.

The real fun was Saturday!

Body is on the frame and solidly mounted. Shaun and I had a few exciting moments but the lineup went pretty quick. The only interference is the two rear floor drains hit the chassis stiffening members. No big deal to fix that. All the lines have plenty of room, mounting the fancy battery tray was easy...... It might've gone too well, really. The two inch drop springs are already showing their effects for the rear. Konig shocks also make a significant difference over anything I've had before.

In other news, we cut apart two core supports. One had a good bottom (rare, due to battery corrosion) but was tweaked from an accident. The other was straight, but chewed through. So two became one, and I now have a straight and non-chewed-up core support!

I helped a guy work on his qjet for the afternoon so that's all for this weekend. Up next is painting the cowl and dash, restoring the A/C box, and wiring. I'm sure I'll be bust for a while. Hopefully I'll be doing the engine/tranny swap sometime this winter. After that it'll be full speed ahead so I get a drivable car again!
